Description
The Lake Tahoe Community College District is soliciting a contractor to remove 100% of the conifer component from a meadow environment adjacent to Trout Creek through hand and mechanized thinning. The contractor must be a Type A Licensed Timber Operator with experience using low-psi cut-to-length machinery in sensitive meadow environments and must provide all labor, materials, equipment, site protection, and environmental compliance. The work includes cutting logs into 10- to 18-foot lengths, forwarding them to a landing for decking, and removing or processing limbs, slash, and woody material less than 4 inches in diameter through chipping and/or disposal. Logs greater than 4 inches in diameter at the small end will be provided to the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California for off-site hauling and beneficial reuse as firewood. The estimated bid value is $225,000, with work scheduled between September 1 and October 15, 2027, and completion required within 15 months of the District's Notice to Proceed.
