Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to provide certified lifeguard coverage and swimming-pool maintenance at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. The contractor must provide staffing coverage for call-outs, required lifeguard and safety certifications, an emergency action plan, rescue equipment, chemicals, testing supplies, and other necessary maintenance equipment; the VA will provide the pool-cleaning robot. The pool serves approximately 20 to 30 patients per day and is currently reported to be in safe working condition. The scope includes routine pool cleaning and water-quality maintenance, chemical testing and adjustments, filtration-system checks, backwashing, vacuuming, brushing, skimmer-basket and waterline-tile cleaning, trash removal, emergency response, reporting, and compliance with applicable health and safety requirements. The solicitation is a small-business set-aside and requires a capability statement, similar past-performance information, and pricing. The contract includes a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods. The amendment establishes a site visit and extends the proposal deadline to October 20, 2026.
