Description
Lee County is soliciting sealed bids for construction of the Palm Creek Lower Filter Marsh. The project will develop a cellular pond and wetland network on approximately 8.52 acres within a larger county parcel. Work includes clearing and grubbing; excavation of approximately 46,100 cubic yards, with excess material transported and leveled at a receiving site; construction of a gravel access road, stabilized maintenance surface, and aggregate pathway; installation of filter-marsh and upland plantings; and construction of weir, diversion, outfall, and related water-control structures. The contractor must provide the labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and incidental work required by the technical specifications. The scope also includes support for gopher-tortoise excavation and relocation, including a backhoe, operator, and two laborers per day, with bidding assumptions of four days of support. The bid package requires completion of the county-provided bid schedule and bid invitation, acknowledgment of addenda, required affidavits and certifications, applicable licenses and certificates, a bid bond, and other listed attachments. The bid deadline is November 5, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time; responses may be submitted electronically through Ion Wave or hand-delivered as sealed bids.
