Description
Erie County’s Department for the Aging is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to provide Social Adult Day Program Services and Out-of-Home Respite Services for caregivers and care receivers. Proposers may use funding for startup and capacity-building activities, including staff training, consultants, operational improvements, transportation-related equipment, and other costs described in a business-plan-based proposal. Organizations do not need to be currently licensed adult day providers, although progress toward licensure is encouraged; direct services may begin as late as January 1, 2027, if proposed. Contracts are expected to begin October 1, 2026, with awarded funds generally required to be expended by March 31, 2027. The county clarified that agencies may apply to both related solicitations, may use vehicles as transportation-related equipment, and may include referral sources and implementation timelines in their proposals. Reimbursement is currently stated as $10 per hour, with a full day defined as approximately 7–8 hours and a half day as approximately 4 hours.
