Description
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority and Niagara Frontier Metro Systems Inc. seek proposals for removal and proper disposal of existing batteries and racks; purchase, delivery, installation, and acceptance testing of new 24V and 48V valve-regulated lead-acid battery replacement systems; and rack-mounted 2,000 VA lithium-ion UPS equipment for Metro light-rail rapid-transit locations. The work includes seismic Zone 4 relay racks, battery breakers and wiring, freshening charges, baseline and online battery readings, operational verification, recycling certificates, updated maintenance literature, test data, and a safety plan. The UPS equipment must support 120VAC input and output, maintenance bypass distribution, alarm-panel integration, external battery packs, and specified communications and battery-management capabilities. Batteries require a 10-year life and minimum five-year warranty; labor and workmanship carry a one-year warranty. The proposal must include an itemized cost proposal, technical specifications, product sell sheets, safety data sheet, warranty information, Buy America compliance information, equipment lead time, applicable bonding documentation, insurance proof, professional certifications or licenses, references, and the required forms and questionnaire. The work is subject to New York State prevailing-wage requirements and includes deliveries during specified weekday hours. The solicitation requires a surety letter with the proposal, while performance, labor and material payment, and maintenance bonds are required only after award or final acceptance.
