Description
The Northborough-Southborough Regional School District is soliciting bids from qualified plumbing contractors to repair identified leaks in the hot-water heating distribution system at Algonquin Regional High School. The work includes identifying and accessing leaks; isolating and draining approximately 8,000 gallons of glycol/water mixture; removing and replacing leaking Victaulic couplings, fittings, valves, gaskets, and associated piping connections in 3-inch, 4-inch, 6-inch, and 10-inch sizes; purging air; testing circulation and pressure; and documenting fluid sampling and testing. Contractors must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, coordination, and site protection. The base project has a total budget not to exceed $75,000, with optional pricing for glycol-system refill and balancing, including ten 55-gallon drums of CRYO-TEK-100 antifreeze, and for insulation replacement and restoration. Prevailing wages apply, and certified payroll records must accompany invoices. The contractor must provide specified insurance, a payment bond of at least 50% of the contract price before contract execution, a 5% bid bond or bid deposit, references for comparable public-sector work, and employees with required CORI/SORI checks and OSHA-approved 10-hour construction safety training.
