Description
The City of Covington seeks a contractor to reconduct three-phase overhead utility lines to larger conductors across three projects. The work includes approximately 0.61 miles along Newtonsboro Road, 0.40 miles along Elm Street and Reynold Street, and 0.35 miles along Highways 278 and 11. The City will supply all materials; the contractor must provide labor, equipment, supervision, traffic control, site restoration, coordination, and support for inspection and testing. Work must be completed by May 31, 2027, and the second project has a planned start date of January 4, 2027. Proposals must include company information and relevant experience, a project approach and schedule, personnel certifications or licenses, a detailed cost estimate for each project and a combined total, and at least three similar-project references completed within the past five years. A bid bond of at least 5% of the base bid is required. The proposal must also include the required insurance evidence and specified affidavits and subcontractor information. Performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the contract amount, are required from the successful bidder after award.
