Description
The district seeks a qualified design-build firm to provide professional design and construction services to modernize elevators at 13 school facilities. Work includes surveying existing conditions; replacing elevator controllers, door operators, hydraulic power units, and signal fixtures; and upgrading related electrical, cab, access-control, camera, and hoistway components as needed. The scope also includes demolition and disposal of existing elevator components, code compliance, permits, and restoration of affected areas. The selected firm will provide preconstruction, design, and construction-phase services, including cost estimates, scheduling, coordination, and quality and safety controls. Work must be planned to avoid disrupting school operations. The estimated construction cost is not to exceed $6.8 million; the initial award is stated as $10,000 per school, with the guaranteed maximum price to be submitted later. The target schedule calls for work to commence by March 2027 and substantial completion by July 2028.
