Description
The University of California, Berkeley is seeking a landscape architect-led team to perform design and construction administration services for a new accessible path of travel through the 1925 Courtyard. This project is a high priority for the University's Accessible Paths and Places Plan. The initial phase will involve validating the project scope, cost estimate, schedule, and developing a refined Conceptual Design. The 1925 Courtyard is located southwest of the Campanile. The project aims to create an accessible ramp, potentially with integrated stairs and seating, along with necessary grading and landscape restoration. This new path will connect South Drive to the paved courtyard, addressing a significant accessibility gap and providing an accessible north-south pathway from the new Bancroft Parking Garage to the center of the Campus Park. The design must be aesthetically integrated with the campus context, enhance the courtyard's appearance and functionality, align with capital resources, and coordinate with the Berkeley Clean Energy Campus (BCEC) project. The project must adhere to the University of California Sustainable Practices Policy and other relevant campus policies.
