Description
The City of Phoenix Water Services Department is conducting a Request for Information regarding the pickup, transportation, and recycling of UN3091 lithium-ion batteries enclosed in epoxy or gel casings. Approximately 5,000 batteries are generated each month across five sites, with pickups needed on an as-needed basis. Battery serial numbers are not visible, the casings must be removed by the vendor to access the batteries, and the state of charge or condition cannot currently be determined before pickup. Respondents are asked to describe pricing models and fees, battery disassembly and transportation capabilities, required preparation and information from the City, container types, monthly processing capacity, post-pickup documentation, storage and labeling recommendations, municipal or high-volume customer experience, startup support, Arizona or neighboring-state facilities, and information needed to develop a future recycling or disposal program. Responses are for planning and information-gathering purposes only and will not result in a purchase or contract award.
