Description
The City of Ocala is soliciting a contractor to demolish and remove the existing exterior stair assembly at the Discovery Science Center and provide design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of a new hot-dip galvanized steel stair system. The work includes landings, guardrails, handrails, anchorage, concrete work as required by the design, permits, site protection, debris disposal, cleanup, and compliance with applicable building, safety, accessibility, and structural standards. The contractor must provide shop drawings and structural calculations signed and sealed by a Florida-licensed professional engineer, possess a valid Florida general contractor's license, and demonstrate at least five years of experience with exterior metal stair fabrication or installation. The project requires a mandatory pre-bid meeting, a completed price proposal, insurance coverage, and completion within 30 calendar days to substantial completion followed by 14 calendar days to final completion. The contractor must perform at least 40% of the work with its own forces; subcontractors require advance City approval.
