Description

New Haven Public Schools is seeking an on-call contractor for snow removal and ice treatment at nine Zone 4 facilities, including schools, a central kitchen, and related properties. The scope includes plowing and removing snow from parking lots, driveways, walkways, stairs, ramps, fire lanes, loading areas, bus and vehicle stops, handicapped entrances and exits, emergency entrances and exits, and other access points; applying approved ice-melt materials; transporting and disposing of snow; maintaining access during storms; and performing follow-up clearing and treatment as needed. Sand is prohibited, and the contractor must supply all labor, equipment, materials, and safety equipment. Addendum #1 clarifies required snow-removal cut-outs and updates the tiered per-event pricing structure for snowfall levels through 18 inches, with additional pricing levels applied above 18 inches. The contractor must provide an equipment list, maintain at least eight staff members for the zone, remain available 24 hours per day and seven days per week during the season, respond to emergency requests, provide before-and-after site and equipment photographs, maintain GPS-equipped plow vehicles, and meet licensing, inspection, safety, reporting, and operational requirements. Proposals must include separate technical and price submissions, with per-event pricing for each facility and snowfall tier. The contract term is October 15, 2026, through April 30, 2027.
