The New York State Museum, managed by Empire State Development (ESD), is seeking proposals for the rental of two versatile, engaging, and family-friendly traveling exhibitions. These exhibitions will be a key component of the new Kid's Zone, a dedicated family discovery hub located on the fourth-floor terrace of the museum. Each exhibition should be between 5,000 to 10,000 square feet or more and be suitable for display in the Museum's Terrace Gallery. Desired exhibitions should connect to the NYSM mission of exploring New York's science, history, anthropology, and art, encouraging curiosity and engagement through hands-on interactivity and play-based learning. They must be family-friendly, visually appealing, ADA compliant, and suitable for multi-generational appeal with short engagement cycles. The rental contract must include all aspects of rental, including staffing, travel, and shipping. Preference will be given to exhibits that support youth-based learning and exploration. The Terrace Gallery offers approximately 20,000 square feet of exhibition space with a 25-foot ceiling, in-floor power, and loading dock access.
