Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to make a sole-source award for a secondary health care clearinghouse to process HIPAA 270/271 eligibility and benefit inquiry/response transactions, including batch and real-time processing, acknowledgments, and connectivity to specified health care payers. The contractor will also process customized electronic transactions to discover patients’ third-party insurance coverage when the VA does not have insurance information on file. The draft performance work statement includes projected transaction volumes, payer connectivity requirements, reporting deliverables, and security and accreditation requirements, including EHNAC HNAP-EHN and CAQH CORE Phase II certification or the stated VA security alternative. This is a notice of intent, not a request for competitive quotes. Responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for consideration by the closing deadline. Responses must demonstrate capability against the draft performance work statement and include company and registration details; respondents must be registered in SAM.
