Description
The City of Grovetown is soliciting one general contractor to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment for water system improvements. The scope includes approximately 5,975 linear feet of 12-inch PVC waterline, 725 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe waterline, 490 linear feet of 18-inch steel casing installed by jack and bore, 13 fire hydrants, gate valves, fittings, erosion-control best management practices, grassing of disturbed areas, and associated appurtenances. The work also includes removing and replacing specified asphalt and concrete areas. Bidders must hold a State of Georgia Utility Contractor License and employ a state Utility Manager certificate holder to oversee the work. The solicitation requires a bid bond of at least 5% of the lump-sum bid; the successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount. Construction is allotted 180 consecutive calendar days for substantial completion and 210 days for final completion. Plans and specifications must be obtained from the engineer's designated website, with a $150 charge for the provided digital plans and printed specifications package.
