Description
The City of Norfolk is soliciting bids for bulk waste containers and waste removal services at 65 municipal and affiliated public-facility locations. The scope includes furnishing, maintaining, cleaning, securing, replacing, and servicing front-load, roll-off, compactor, and caster-equipped containers; scheduled collection Monday through Saturday; on-call container service; emergency shelter and disaster response; community cleanup events; animal-waste disposal for the Virginia Zoological Park; and tire disposal. The contractor must provide labor, cartage, transportation, disposal, equipment, and facilities, comply with applicable ANSI standards, clean up spills, and meet specified response times for missed collections, damaged containers, emergency containers, and on-call service. Bidders must complete the bid form pricing for scheduled service, animal-waste disposal, tire disposal, on-call service, and community initiatives. The solicitation will result in separate contracts with the City, Norfolk Public Schools, Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, and Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The contract term is five years. Bids are evaluated by line-item pricing and responsibility, with award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder or bidders.
