Description
Akron Public Schools seeks two new, current-production 66-passenger transit-type school buses. Each bus must comply with Ohio school bus minimum standards, applicable federal safety standards, and the detailed chassis and body specifications in the RFP. Requirements include a diesel engine, full air brakes, air suspension, specified axle and fuel capacities, Allison automatic transmission or equivalent, extensive heating and defrosting systems, safety equipment, tinted windows, LED lighting, roof hatches, stop arms, and other school-bus components. Equivalent products may be proposed, but deviations must be clearly identified and the proposed bus must be available for inspection before proposal opening. The vendor must provide delivery, pre-delivery inspection, state-inspection readiness, manufacturer warranties, service and warranty support, manuals and technical documentation, title, parts and wiring information, and customer-portal training before delivery. The buses must include a Seon DH6 camera system, with camera placement determined by the school district. Proposers must complete the Proposal Submission Form, provide detailed manufacturer specifications and support information, and include all transportation and related costs in the proposal. The buses are to be delivered to the district transportation department unless otherwise specified on the purchase order.
