Description
The project includes removal of existing concrete, a picnic shelter, and a drinking fountain; installation of a new concrete shelter pad and footings for an Owner-provided 40-foot hexagonal picnic shelter with electrical service; and related site work, including grading, seeding, fertilizing, concrete pavement, erosion and sediment controls, and construction access measures. The contractor must pick up the shelter from the Owner's equipment center and install it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Shelter installation must be performed by a metal craftsman employed by a steel erector certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction. The work also includes conduit and tracing wire for future electrical service, GFCI receptacles, breaker-box installation, site clearing, earthwork, concrete walks and slabs, lawn establishment and maintenance, and protection of existing trees and site improvements. The project is subject to Illinois prevailing-wage requirements, Davis-Bacon federal labor standards, Section 3 requirements, Build America, Buy America requirements, and Peoria Park District minority- and women-owned business participation and workforce goals. A 10% bid guaranty is required with the bid; the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and labor-and-material payment bonds after award, along with required insurance and certifications.
