The University of Oregon is soliciting qualifications from architecture firms for Knight Campus Building 3. The initial scope includes refinement of a five-building academic and research campus master plan; programming and conceptual design for three future academic, research, and innovation buildings; and 100% schematic design for an approximately 120,000-130,000-square-foot Research/Instructional Building. Services include utility connections, sitework, open-space development, Millrace protection, public-way improvements, code and life-safety analysis, sustainability planning, cost coordination, and rendered materials for fundraising. The anticipated contract structure includes subconsultant interview support, master planning/programming/conceptual design, and schematic design for Building 3, followed by potential amendments for design development, construction documents, bidding, construction administration, closeout, and possible future Knight Campus buildings and parking facilities. The initial Building 3 direct construction budget is estimated at $250 million-$280 million, and the total project budget through completion of all listed phases is estimated at $700 million-$900 million. Proposers must be licensed, or have an application in process, to practice architecture in Oregon; the Architect of Record must maintain an Oregon office and perform the work in Oregon. Submissions are limited to 40 pages, excluding specified covers and resumes, and must be one PDF no larger than 30 MB.
