Description
Marcola School District (MSD) is submitting an Integrated Application for the 2025-27 biennium to secure funding for various educational programs and initiatives. The plan focuses on four key outcomes: implementing a future-ready curriculum with emphasis on early literacy and CTE pathways, enhancing student connectedness through counseling and extracurricular activities, building and maintaining 21st century facilities, and improving communication and trust with the community. Specific strategies include work-based learning opportunities, common planning time for teachers, multiple CTE pathways (Agriculture, Construction, Health Sciences, Culinary), adoption of standards-based curricula, project-based learning, mental health and academic counseling, Pre-Kindergarten services, summer school, facility upgrades for safety and project-based learning, and community outreach events. The district prioritizes focal student groups including special education students and those experiencing poverty, with targeted interventions such as integrated special education and culinary arts classes, barrier-free extracurricular activities, and a 'triple-dose' of ELA and math for special education students. The plan also addresses CTE participation gaps for female and special education students through regional support from Lane CTE.
