Description
Ocean County seeks a contractor to provide retreading services for tires used by its fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles. The scope includes tracking and returning County casings, retreading specified on-road and off-road tire sizes with approved tread products, buffing and curing casings to specified standards, applying tire paint, and providing documentation of retreading, rejection, repairs, and expenditures. The contractor must pick up tires within 24 hours of notification, provide seven-day turnaround for on-road tires and 14-day turnaround for off-road tires, remove and remount tires, replace valve stems, perform bead-to-bead shearographic inspection, provide non-retreadable-tire reports, and return completed tires to the County facility without additional pickup or delivery charges. Spot repairs are included in retread pricing; approved section and nail-hole repairs may be charged separately. A certificate of insurance naming Ocean County as an additional insured must accompany the bid.
