Tires & Recapping of Tires (One Time Purchase) Legal Notice Notice is hereby given that the Public Works Committee of the Steuben County Legislature and the Commissioner of Public Works will receive sealed bids per specifications for: Title: Tires & Recapping of Tires (One Time Purchase). Document Number: PW-26-023-B. Bid documents are available, as of this date, at the Purchasing Department, 3 East Pulteney Square, Bath, New York. Telephone number: 607-664-2484. These documents are also available on the internet; Steuben County website at www.SteubenCountyNY.gov. Interested parties assume all responsibility to acquire bid information and forms. To be considered, bids must be submitted on Steuben County bid forms and delivered in a sealed opaque envelope. Description
Steuben County is soliciting sealed bids for commercial tires, including specified sizes, ply ratings, tread depths, tread designs, and quantities, with Tier 1 or Tier 2 classifications and equivalent-product documentation requirements. The solicitation also requests pricing for recapping and repairing 11R-24.5 tires, including P-124 Sierra tread, nail-hole repairs, spot repairs, and section repairs. Tire casings that cannot be recapped must be returned to the County at no charge. Bidders may bid on individual line items and must provide manufacturer, model, warranty, product literature, and supporting documentation for proposed equipment. The bid requires two sets—one marked original and one duplicate or copy—along with the applicable bid forms, signed certifications, a $2,500 bid bond or permitted substitute surety, and other required submission materials. Tires must be delivered within 45 calendar days after award to the specified Public Works facility; recapping and repair work is available through September 24, 2027.
