Description
Louisa County is soliciting a contractor to provide as-needed hauling and disposal or recycling services for scrap tires from the Louisa County Landfill. The contractor must provide two on-site containers or semitrailers, each at least 45 feet long; supply all labor, equipment, transportation, materials, and incidentals; and replace an empty container when a full container is collected. Pickup is generally required within five business days after notification that a trailer is full, with additional financial deductions for delayed retrieval or failure to replace the container. The work primarily involves passenger and truck tires without rims, with larger or limited rimmed tires accepted under stated conditions. Disposal must comply with applicable Virginia, federal, and local regulations, and the contractor must provide a completed manifest showing delivery to an authorized tire-recycling facility within 60 days after transport. Bidders must submit a fixed price per pickup, and the contract includes a one-year initial term with two successive one-year renewal terms by mutual agreement.
