Description
The City of San Diego is soliciting a contractor to provide comprehensive, as-needed tire goods and services for approximately 200 refuse collection trucks. The scope includes new tire supply, daily on-site tire inspections, air-pressure checks and adjustments, tire and wheel replacement, tire maintenance, major and minor tire recapping with repairs, tire disposal, wheel-indicator replacement, reporting, and related labor. Road-call services are excluded. Services must be performed on-site at the City's refuse-truck facility after approximately 3:30 p.m. and completed by 5:00 a.m. the following day, including designated holiday-support Saturdays. The contractor must provide at least five registered service vehicles, qualified personnel, a dedicated project manager, applicable licenses and permits, product data for proposed retread designs, and daily and monthly reporting. The five-year contract includes estimated unit-pricing requirements for new tires, recapped tires, disposal, monthly maintenance, and extraordinary labor. The bid requires completion of the pricing pages and submission of specified compliance forms, licenses, equal-opportunity documents, a safety data sheet for each product bid, and a signed ITB signature page.
