Description
The City of Oxnard is soliciting lump-sum bids for interior improvements at the John C. Zaragoza Oxnard Transit Center to bring the building into compliance with current ADA requirements. The construction scope includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and incidental work, including selective demolition; interior framing, doors, gypsum board, finishes, stairs, railings, signage, furnishings, and toilet compartments; plumbing fixture and piping modifications; fire-protection and sprinkler modifications; electrical distribution, lighting, controls, wiring, and device work; and associated testing, permitting, cleanup, and incidental work. Temporary accessible restroom facilities must be provided while existing restrooms are unavailable. The project is a California public work subject to prevailing-wage, Department of Industrial Relations registration, certified-payroll, licensing, and compliance-monitoring requirements. Bidders must hold a California Class B General Building Contractor's License and perform at least 50 percent of the contract work with their own organization, excluding designated specialty items. The successful bidder must provide 100 percent payment and performance bonds and required insurance. Work must be completed within 125 working days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bids must include all required pricing and documents, be submitted electronically through the City of Oxnard's PlanetBids portal, and be accompanied by bid security equal to 10 percent of the total bid price, mailed or delivered to the Oxnard City Clerk's Office by the bid deadline.
