Description
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is soliciting grant applications for programs that provide high-quality mentoring to youth age 17 or younger who are impacted by opioid or other substance use, at risk of substance use, or have close family members experiencing substance use or dependency. Eligible projects may use one-on-one, group, peer, virtual, or hybrid mentoring models; serve youth and their families; train mentors to recognize substance-use indicators; and devote up to 20 percent of project funds to related services such as mental health treatment, substance-use treatment, or other supportive services. The opportunity has two categories: local project sites and statewide or regional programs. Applicants must have at least three consecutive years of uninterrupted structured youth mentoring experience, currently operate a structured mentoring program, and partner with a licensed or accredited public or private substance-use treatment organization under a memorandum of understanding. Awards are expected to support 36-month projects beginning January 1, 2027. Applications require submission through Grants.gov and JustGrants, including proposal narratives, budgets, an MOU, organizational-history materials, an executive summary chart, a mentoring program profile, and applicable supporting forms and attachments.
