Description
The University of Missouri seeks one S-200-FH-grade, hot-isostatic-pressed nuclear-grade beryllium reflector and one AA6061 aluminum support skirt for its research reactor. The beryllium reflector must be manufactured from beryllium powder by HIP and finish-machined to the specified drawings; the support skirt must meet the stated material and drawing requirements. The scope includes chemical and mechanical property verification, density and grain-size testing, liquid penetrant, radiographic, and ultrasonic examinations, surface treatment and profilometry reporting, and certification of test results in triplicate. The supplier must provide several small samples from the same stock used for the beryllium ring for onsite testing, satisfy QA Level 1 requirements, provide a recent description of comparable beryllium machining with customer contact information, and permit review of manufacturing procedures before work begins. The contract period is five years from award, with pricing firm for the initial term.
