Description
The City of Hamilton is soliciting a contractor for Phase II of the Build Back the Block project. The work includes installation of 23 sanitary sewer laterals, one sanitary cleanout, 27 water services, and 16 lead water service disconnections. The contractor must furnish all required labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services, including excavation, pipe installation, utility coordination, traffic control, sewer-flow maintenance or bypass pumping when needed, testing, flushing, sterilization and disinfection of water mains, and restoration of pavement, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, gutters, and vegetated areas. Addendum #2 states that substantial completion, except for Hanover Street addresses, is due 90 days after the Notice to Proceed, with final completion due January 28, 2027. The contractor does not need a tapper or sewer tapper license; however, the contractor must prepare excavation areas for City Water Distribution Department tapping, provide required excavation protection and safe access, give 48 hours' notice for water-main tapping, and obtain project-inspector approval before backfilling sanitary-main tap connections. The project remains subject to City of Hamilton and Ohio Department of Transportation specifications, prevailing-wage requirements, and requirements for utility protection, trenching, backfill, waterline separation, public safety, and traffic maintenance.
