Description
The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, is seeking a consultant for total design and construction support services for the Crocheron Park pedestrian bridge over the Belt Cross Island Parkway in Queens. The scope includes preliminary design, detailed final design, and construction support for rehabilitation or replacement of the existing bridge, including an ADA-compliant ramp, structural and substructure evaluation, surveys, geotechnical investigation, hazardous-materials assessment, traffic and pedestrian data collection, environmental and permitting work, right-of-way and land-use support, work-zone traffic control, utility coordination, public outreach, aesthetics, and Public Design Commission coordination. The consultant must provide qualified professional engineers and other specialized personnel, demonstrate relevant bridge-design experience, maintain specified organizational capacity, and prepare design reports, cost estimates, plans, contract documents, and construction-phase technical support. The preliminary-design cost proposal is submitted with the response; final-design and construction-support fees will be negotiated separately. The anticipated contract term is 2,192 consecutive calendar days from written notice to proceed for preliminary design through final completion of the construction contract. The procurement includes a 30% M/WBE participation goal and requires submission through the city's online procurement portal.
