Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, is conducting market research for an anticipated firm-fixed-price service contract with cost-reimbursable travel to provide independent, on-site nuclear criticality safety support for the Shallow Land Disposal Area environmental-remediation project. The anticipated structure is a one-year base period with four option years, requiring a qualified primary Nuclear Criticality Safety Officer and alternate Nuclear Criticality Safety Officer. The scope includes on-site support during remediation, field walkdowns, review of nuclear criticality safety evaluations and technical documentation, assessment of criticality-safety controls, audits and surveillance of the remediation contractor's program, review of radiological and nuclear quality-assurance records, support for handling and disposal of excavated radiological and special nuclear materials, preparation of independent technical reports, and coordination with project stakeholders. This is a Sources Sought notice for market research only; proposals are not being requested or accepted. Responses must address relevant experience, qualified personnel availability, nuclear criticality safety and radiological or HTRW remediation experience, and potential prime-contractor or teaming-partner interest.
