Description
The City of Lowell is soliciting bids for construction of Phase 2 of St. Louis Sponge Park, an outdoor climate classroom and event-space project. The base bid includes site preparation and demolition, earthwork and remediation cap, drainage, electric and water service, concrete and asphalt paving, salvaged granite seat walls and stairs, custom glulam shade canopies with recycled-polystyrene panels, park signage, rain gardens, planting, irrigation, lighting, site furnishings, and installation of owner-furnished items. The work includes civil, landscape, structural, architectural, electrical, utility, stormwater, planting, erosion-control, and public-realm improvements. Contractors must comply with Massachusetts prevailing-wage requirements, protect existing trees, provide required submittals and mock-ups, coordinate utilities and permitting, and complete the work in accordance with the drawings and project manual. The solicitation does not state a total budget, contract term, bond requirement, insurance requirement, or detailed proposal-package contents.
