Description
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is soliciting bids for scale sample collection, laboratory testing, chemical descaling, neutralization, and passivation of eight steam boilers: six at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant and two at the Southerly Wastewater Treatment Center. The work includes chemical cleaning of boiler tubes, monitoring to prevent corrosion, treatment and disposal of spent solutions, post-descaling inspection, and service reporting. The contractor must provide experienced personnel, equipment, chemicals, laboratory testing, safety equipment, and related incidentals. Required qualifications and response materials include a contractor qualifications questionnaire, three similar commercial chemical-descaling references from the past five years, and descriptions of the proposed monitoring, ventilation, neutralization, and cleaning methods. The contract is a nine-month requirement contract with an estimated probable cost of $135,000, and subcontracting requires prior NEORSD approval.
