Description
The City of Cleveland is soliciting bids for 80 turnout hoods for cadets. The hoods must provide full head, neck, and shoulder/chest interface coverage for structural firefighting use under helmets and around SCBA facepieces, with flame-resistant textile composites, a particulate-blocking barrier, thermal protection, breathability, durability, and restricted-substance compliance. Products must comply with NFPA 1970-2025, including at least 90% filtration efficiency for particles between 0.1 and 1.0 micrometers, applicable thermal protective performance, flame resistance, limited shrinkage, seam and burst strength, and wash/heat conditioning requirements. Independent third-party certification, permanent product labeling, and care and maintenance information are required. The bid quantity is 80 units, with service dates from October 5, 2026, through December 31, 2027.
