Description
The University of Kansas is soliciting an indefinite-quantity, on-call contract for snow and ice removal services. The contractor must provide labor, supervision, equipment, vehicles, materials, fuel, and incidentals for snow plowing, snow blowing, sidewalk and entrance clearing, deicing with salt, sand, brine, or approved materials, snow hauling and off-site disposal, emergency storm response, post-storm cleanup, and removal of drifting snow and refreezing hazards. Services are primarily for the Lawrence campus and may also be required at the Edwards campus and KU Medical Center. The contractor must maintain 24/7 availability during snow season, acknowledge service requests within four hours, mobilize equipment within eight hours, and provide a project manager and emergency contact. The initial contract term is three years, with up to two additional one-year renewal terms. Required response materials include pricing, labor capacity, an equipment inventory, references, company and operational information, safety information, and a Kansas tax clearance certificate when anticipated spend exceeds $25,000.
