Description
The City of Lawrence is soliciting bids for installation of a new natural gas-powered standby generator outside the existing SCADA building and server facility at the Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant. The scope includes furnishing a 175-kilowatt, 480/277-volt, three-phase generator; reinforced concrete generator pad; natural gas fuel train and connections; electrical conduits, wiring, terminations, controls, grounding, and related equipment; weatherproof sound-attenuated enclosure; and startup and commissioning. The contractor must provide equipment installation, manufacturer field services, load-starting demonstrations, two 30-minute performance tests, and a four-hour load-bank test at nameplate capacity and specified power factor. The proposal package includes the City’s proposal forms, addenda acknowledgment, statement of qualifications, comparable wastewater-treatment-plant project experience from the past five years, startup-manager qualifications, proposed generator brand, financial statement or qualifying prequalification evidence, anticipated subcontractors and equipment suppliers, and an electronic bid bond. The work is subject to a 280-day contract period, with stated project milestones and required performance, statutory, and maintenance bonds after award.
