Description
The State of California Department of Parks and Recreation is soliciting bids for materials to replace the Mono Lake ADA boardwalk. The required materials are fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials, manufactured with continuous ECR glass fiber and vinyl ester resin. These materials must be painted with a two-part fluoropolymer coating, specifically RAL 080-30-26 (Smoked Oak), to withstand the harsh alkaline and UV exposure environment and adhere to scenic corridor constraints. The project requires 740 lineal feet of boardwalk, 6 feet in width. The decking specified is 38mm mini-mesh with an anti-slip surface, provided in 4 feet by 6 feet by 1.5 inches thick panels. Bull rail edging is also required to create a continuous 6-foot-wide decking surface. Stainless steel hardware and brackets must be provided to connect all boardwalk materials to the pre-existing concrete Diamond Pier foundations. The spans between foundations need to be 20 feet and engineered for a 100 psi live load due to the sensitive wetland environment.
