Description
The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), through the Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal, is issuing a Call for Solutions for an Advanced Manufacturing Vacuum Furnace Post Processing Capability. This initiative aims to integrate one vacuum furnace at the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) to address critical readiness gaps in aviation maintenance operations. The current supply chain constraints lead to extended lead times for obsolete parts, impacting aircraft readiness. The proposed solution must enable CCAD to rapidly fabricate qualified parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, and ground support equipment. The required vacuum furnace should have specific capabilities including a maximum load dimension of 36"x36"x48", a weight capacity of 3,000lb, an operating temperature range of 900°F-2400°F, and a quench pressure up to 12 bar. Key features include internal quenching with 360-degree cooling uniformity, specific heating element support, and a nozzle system for uniform quenching with a convection option. Solutions must be produced in the continental United States and include shipping, on-site installation, ancillary equipment, operating software, warranties, sustainment, and on-demand technical support. The proposal must also include extended warranties for a total of three years, predictive maintenance software for three years, and preventative maintenance for three years. Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) is required, along with a detailed installation plan and bill of materials for facility modifications. Training for up to five personnel is also required.
