Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is soliciting bids for vegetation management services to reduce fire fuels at the North Fork Mokelumne Demonstration State Forest. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees to perform these services. The project is located in Amador County, California, near Pioneer. The estimated contract period is from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028, with a potential one-year extension. The scope of work includes mastication of understory vegetation and some overstory trees, with a focus on improving forest health, resilience to pests and wildfire, and promoting resource allocation for cone and seed production. The estimated acreage for treatment is up to 175 acres. Work may be conducted year-round, with a seasonal restriction from December 15th to March 21st due to weather and soil conditions. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including prevailing wage requirements and safety standards. A mandatory pre-bid walk-through is scheduled for June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time at 27282 Alpine Hwy, Pioneer, CA 95666. Bids are due by July 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time and must be submitted electronically to Bids@fire.ca.gov.
