Description
The State of Montana, through Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, is soliciting a contractor to perform forest management treatments across 210 acres and 16 harvest units within the Alberton Gorge Recreation Corridor. Work includes felling, skidding, yarding, hauling, and removal of designated timber; precommercial thinning and slashing; creation and treatment of slash piles; and compliance with fire-protection, resource-protection, wildlife, cultural-resource, and noxious-weed requirements. The estimated harvest volume is 3,156 tons, consisting of sawlogs and other material. The contractor must also construct, reconstruct, improve, and maintain designated roads and temporary spur roads; perform brushing, blading, drainage and culvert work, erosion control, snowplowing when required, grass seeding, fertilization, and related traffic-control measures. The service period is identified as September 15, 2026, through April 15, 2027, with harvest completion required by March 1, 2027. A performance bond equal to 20% of the bid value is required, and the work is subject to specified insurance, road-use permits, forest-fire regulations, prevailing-wage requirements, and federal funding terms.
