Description
The Town of Winthrop seeks a qualified contractor to remove an approximately 20-by-20-foot, 5-foot-deep pier at Maranacook Beach and restore areas disturbed by the work. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, disposal, and incidentals; install and maintain a turbidity curtain; develop compliant temporary access from the beach; remove temporary access materials and pier debris; lawfully dispose of materials; protect the public, property, facilities, utilities, vegetation, and water resources; and restore disturbed lawn areas. An alternate bid is requested for rejuvenating the badly eroded swim beach in compliance with Maine Department of Environmental Protection regulations. Proposals must include relevant experience, at least two similar-work references, a detailed work plan, schedule, lump-sum pricing for the base and alternate work, assumptions or exceptions, and proof of insurance or confirmation that insurance will be provided before contract execution. The project is anticipated to occur in fall 2026, with completion required by December 4, 2026, subject to permitting and schedule coordination.
