Description
Harris County is soliciting a contractor for the in-truss modernization of six KONE escalators at the Harris County Civil Courthouse. The work includes replacing controllers, drive motors, gearboxes, brakes, balustrades, step chains, steps, comb plates, tracks, skirting, skirt brushes, handrails, floor plates, safety signage, and related mechanical, electrical, and safety components. Refurbished, reconditioned, rebuilt, or remanufactured components will not be accepted. Work must maintain at least three escalators in operation, retain existing cladding and trusses unless otherwise directed, and comply with applicable state and local codes, ASME A17.1, and ADA requirements. The contractor must provide demolition, installation, staging, testing, commissioning, safety planning, documentation, as-built drawings, manuals, warranty information, and final acceptance materials. A minimum one-year warranty is required. The estimated project budget is $2,500,000. The proposal must include detailed technical, organizational, safety, pricing, and subcontractor information, along with required certifications, questionnaires, insurance documentation, and utilization materials.
