Description
Gratiot County seeks a qualified provider for comprehensive healthcare services at its jail, which has a capacity of 72 inmates. The scope includes onsite nursing 40 hours per week on weekdays, an optional additional four hours per day on weekends, a 24-hour on-call nurse, and a physician available by telephone, video conference, fax, and in person. Services include intake screening, health assessments, emergency referrals, sick calls, medication verification and administration, chronic-care monitoring, medical clearances, outside appointment coordination, mental-health coordination, medical records, and medical-waste handling. The provider must supply appropriately licensed staff, maintain required permits and licenses, provide staff training, and comply with applicable American Medical Association, Michigan Department of Corrections, National Commission on Correctional Health Care, and state and federal standards. The proposal must describe the firm's qualifications, staffing, comparable correctional healthcare experience, approach, work plan, anticipated challenges, reporting formats, licensing, and conflicts of interest. Respondents must provide resumes for the proposed Medical Director and Program Administrator, and the Medical Director must be licensed in Michigan. The agreement is intended to run for three years, with a separate all-inclusive maximum-price proposal. The selected provider will also be responsible for prescription medications and packaging when needed. Insurance evidence is not required with the initial submission but must be provided before award or contract execution if selected.
