Description
The State of Michigan is soliciting bids for renovations to approximately 14,787 square feet of the Ottawa Building's first-floor west suite at 611 W. Ottawa Street. The work includes constructing private offices and conference rooms, reconfiguring workspaces and storage areas, refurbishing an existing kitchenette, selective demolition, new carpet and resilient flooring, wall painting, ceiling tile, doors and frames, clerestory windows, markerboards, and related interior finishes. Most existing furniture will be relocated and reused by others, with installation and electrical connections coordinated with the general contractor. The scope also includes modifications to HVAC systems and controls, including new or relocated VAV boxes, ductwork, diffusers, thermostats, and integration with the existing BACnet direct digital control system; electrical power and lighting demolition and installation; fire-protection sprinkler modifications; testing, adjusting, and balancing; permits, inspections, closeout documentation, and compliance with Michigan building codes. A 5 percent bid security is required, and performance and payment bonds are required for bids over $50,000. The contract time is 90 days.
