Description
The City of Virginia Beach is soliciting one contractor to maintain and mow approximately 132 stormwater management facilities and drainage basins, with pricing based on the listed square-foot areas. Work includes mowing or cutting trees and underbrush from the edge of water or bottom of slope to the top of bank, clearing vegetation and trees on BMP slopes, and removing reachable litter and debris. Special conditions apply at certain sites, including hand tools only, underbrush-only clearing, access coordination, HOA notification, traffic control, and restrictions on removing larger trees. BMPs generally will be cut once during the contract, except Lynnhaven Mall 1, 2, and 3, which will be cut four times approximately two months apart. The contractor must include in its price repairs for damage caused during work, such as stabilizing denuded areas with seed and matting, filling and seeding tire ruts, and repairing fences. No work may be performed on Sundays, and adjacent private residences must receive 72 hours' advance notice. The bid package requires an authorized signature form, workforce composition form, Small Business Subcontracting Participation Plan, references, anticollusion/non-discrimination/drug-free workplace form, addendum acknowledgment, and pricing page.
