Description
The City of Virginia Beach is soliciting sealed bids for the final phase of a multi-phase rehabilitation project in the Pembroke Meadows neighborhood. Work includes replacement of several water mains and sanitary sewer lines, gravity sewer point repairs, cured-in-place pipe rehabilitation of sanitary sewer laterals and mains, service lateral replacements, manhole rehabilitation, abandonment of existing pipelines and structures, pavement and concrete restoration, maintenance of traffic, erosion and sediment control, bypass pumping and flow control, testing, record drawings, and project identification signage. The bid documents require a completed and notarized Bid Proposal/Contract with all unit prices, a bidder's bond equal to at least 5% of the total bid, and acknowledgment of issued addenda, including Addendum #2. Bidders intending to subcontract must submit the City's Small Business Subcontracting Participation Plan and good-faith-efforts documentation when applicable. The solicitation also requires at least five similar-project references from the past five years. Performance and payment bonds, each for at least the total bid amount, and extensive insurance coverage are required from the successful bidder after notice of intent to award.
