Description

This request seeks a general contractor for the addition, renovation, and upgrade of the Central Utility Building at Fermilab. The scope includes demolition; foundations, caissons, retaining walls, slabs, structural steel, roofing, exterior and interior construction; sitework and utilities; plumbing; HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, hydronic piping, pumps, controls, and testing; fire protection and fire alarm systems; and low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS equipment, lighting, communications, and security systems. FermiForward will furnish certain major equipment, including chillers, medium-voltage switchgear and transformers, and low-voltage switchgear, for contractor receipt, storage, installation, commissioning, and testing. The contractor must maintain critical utility operations while phasing construction around the accelerator shutdown, complete the CUB extension and existing-building upgrades, and provide project management, BIM coordination, safety, quality control, environmental protection, commissioning, and closeout documentation. Proposals require separate technical and business/price volumes, a firm-fixed-price proposal with alternates, substantial construction experience and past-performance documentation, financial and bonding evidence, safety and quality submissions, and the specified certifications and forms.
