Description
The City of Aurora is soliciting bids for the supply and delivery of granular calcium oxide (quicklime) and liquid fluorosilicic acid for its water treatment plant. Estimated 2027 quantities are 5,100 tons of calcium oxide and 120,000 pounds of fluorosilicic acid, with an optional 2028 year for the same estimated quantities. Chemicals will be ordered as needed and must meet specified ANSI/AWWA and NSF/ANSI Standard 60 requirements, with product information, certifications, safety data sheets, and certificates of analysis required. Quicklime must meet specified chemical composition, particle-size, slaking-rate, and pneumatic-unloading requirements; fluorosilicic acid must meet specified concentration, color, solids, and hydrofluoric-acid limits. Deliveries must be made within three working days for quicklime and five working days for fluorosilicic acid, during designated weekday hours, using appropriately equipped delivery vehicles. The supplier must also provide annual safe-handling training for fluorosilicic acid when requested. The prime vendor must submit the bid electronically through the City's procurement system and may not bid solely as a subcontractor, broker, or third-party vendor.
