The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting on-site therapeutic medical physicist services for the Radiation Oncology Service at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. The contractor must provide qualified board-certified or board-eligible therapeutic medical physicists for approximately 240 hours of services as needed, including clinical physics operations, treatment planning, dosimetry, chart review, radiation safety, equipment evaluation, patient-care support, and related administrative activities. The medical physicist must be available during clinic hours and provide coverage for radiation oncology operations, including advanced treatment techniques such as IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, VMAT, and brachytherapy as applicable. The scope also includes on-site monthly and annual quality assurance for two linear accelerators and one CT scanner; development and maintenance of quality management, radiation safety, and quality-improvement programs; preparation of medical physics and performance reports; maintenance of licensing, certification, and training documentation; compliance with applicable ACR, ASTRO, AAPM, VA, NRC, and other radiation oncology standards; and protection of patient information. The solicitation requires at least three past-performance references and candidate documentation, including licenses or certifications, advanced certifications, and resumes or curricula vitae. This is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside limited to firms certified in the SBA VetCert database at the time of offer submission.
