Description
The University of Kansas is soliciting a complete 1:1 replacement of the Lied Center's existing stage/orchestra pit lift. The awarded supplier must provide engineering, permits, equipment, structural and electrical modifications, transportation, installation, supervision, testing, commissioning, training, documentation, and warranty support. The system must provide quiet, reliable operation for theatrical, musical, educational, and public performance use; accommodate performers, musicians, seating systems, stage equipment, and material handling; integrate with existing stage systems; and include redundant safety features, emergency operation, overload and overspeed protection, interlocks, obstruction detection, and ADA-compliant transitions. The project must be completed during the fixed outage window of July 24 through August 21, 2027. Required proposal materials include a completed pricing spreadsheet, an itemized quote, a detailed technical solution, lifecycle cost information, project schedule, comparable project references, key personnel and subcontractor information, and applicable tax-clearance and financial documentation. The scope requires a manufacturer with at least five consecutive years of experience producing similar theatrical lifts and an authorized, trained manufacturer representative for installation. A one-year comprehensive warranty, manufacturer warranty coverage, preventive maintenance information, replacement-parts support, testing reports, operating and maintenance manuals, and training materials are also required.
