Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking capability information and estimated pricing—not proposals—for third-party witnessing of Category 1 semi-annual and annual inspections and Category 5 five-year full-load tests for 40 elevators. The contractor must verify that maintenance and testing comply with applicable ANSI/ASME codes, provide qualified elevator inspectors with current QE-1/QEI credentials and at least five years of certified-inspector experience, and supply inspection labor, recommended inspector tools, and required documentation. The VA will provide the labor, equipment, tools, and test weights needed to physically perform the inspections and tests; the contractor will not perform repairs or adjustments. The contractor must complete device-specific inspection checklists and certificates, document deficiencies and recommended upgrades, and deliver report packages within 30 days after each inspection. Inspectors must also be available for consultation within two days of notification and during normal business hours. The anticipated contract period is January 15, 2027, through January 14, 2028, with inspections planned in May and November.
